middle of the end of august -- me in the kitchen

I got me bike on Thursday night. I could not take it out for a spin that night, because I had to go to a TNT meeting. TNT is the 20s and 30s group at Westlake. For the TNT meeting we had to bring a dessert or drink, so I opted for dessert. I made carrot cake from scratch on Wednesday. The problem we I could not find the exact type of recipe I wanted to I just mix a few from AllRecipe.com. I wanted one with whole wheat but not coconut or any nuts at all. I mostly used Carrot Cake X, but the first batch I made, although I used less sugar than the recipe called required, I felt the muffins I made were too sweet. However, I am not sure anyone in my house felt they were too sweet. Raylen brought all her friends, Osian, Kelly, and Anna over on Wednesday for a snake and they each had 3 mini-muffins a piece. Then Tabea, who doesn't care too much for sweet, had 2 or 3 herself and Gemma had 2 or 3. Then when Rich came home he had A LOT. I did not mind because I made me feel good the family likes them. Even Andréa had a few. So, needless to day I had to make more the next day, which was also when I had to make the quiche.

Andrea also asked me to make quiche for dinner. Problem was she left me with tofu, she has similar eating habit to me and so most of our meals are vegetarian in nature, and some ingredients and just told me to make the quiche. I was so nervous, because I get very nervous in the kitchen without a recipe. I sautéed some onions, red peppers and tomato, blended up the tofu with about 5 eggs, 12oz of Gruyére, my new favorite cheese, and added a 1/2 cup of soy milk. I did not know how it would turn out, but everyone LOVED it. Even pick Tabea asked for seconds.

oh, p.s. I believe Thursday was also when I deleted my entire 27 days worth of music from my iTunes. So if anyone wants to email or yousendit any music to me that would be wonderful. Especially if you have any Jonny Lang. All my music is in the states now on my external hard drive.

peace, love and applesauce
